Over 100 Households Have Bought The Plough
The Share Offer launched on April 20th closed on May 18th. Hanney Community Association raised the full sum of £400,000 from over 100 Hanney households. On May 19th they exchanged contracts, so The Plough at West Hanney is now our Community Free House.
Completion date is not yet decided, but it will be in the first half of June. The next stage after completion will be to get the keys and put all of our refurbishment plans into operation. We are pleased to introduce Phil & Fiona (Fi) as the tenants and we know that Hanney villagers will give them a warm welcome when they take over after a short refurbishment period.
Many of you will know Phil from his successful tenancy at The Chequers at Charney a number of years back. We will send e-mails to all shareholders telling them of our progress and the re-opening date. The team - Chris French, Phil Larder, Dave Lea, Angie Miller, Geoff Brooker - that led the project for the purchase of our historic pub would like to publicly thank all of the villagers who stepped forward with money, for without them the purchase would not have taken place. Phil & Fi look forward to welcoming all villagers into The Plough to enjoy good food and drinks in Hanneys own community pub.
