Hanney Drama Group

Since soon after the new Hanney War Memorial Hall opened Hanney Drama Group (HDG) has performed a pantomime, a big show, a Music Hall or plays early in the year, usually February; an event that has proved over many years to be very popular among Hanney residents.

For a number of years the HDG were involved in the Oxfordshire Drama Network's pantomime and children's play competition in which they won several awards. The February 2026 production of Puss in Boots was no exception, receiving Winter Festival nominations in multiple categories and the award for best actress - see associated April 2026 news item for full details.

Claim to Fame: the group also had a 3-page spread article written about them in the November 2008 issue of Country Life.
